How does nascar work?

NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) is a stock car racing organization races across the United States. Races are typically divided into three stages or sometimes four, where points are awarded based on finishing position at the end of each stage, and the final stage determines the overall race winner. The season ends in a playoff system, where the top 16 drivers compete in an elimination bracket for the championship.
