Fun Facts about Anteaters

kiwifruit capital Ant eaters are really fascinating animals that are easy going mammals that rely on their long tongs that are covered in little spike-like hooks. Anteaters tongues can be up to 60cm long as they use their long tongues to get into the crevices of ant hills. Anteaters can consume up to 30000 ants and termites per day. Ant eaters have no teeth so they rely on their stomach muscles to digest the ants and other food they consume. Anteaters also consume a list of of other stuff.



What diffrent types of Anteaters are there?

image_of_anteater Anteaters are in the cyclopedidae family there are four different types of anteaters. The giant ant eater which can grow up to 1.8-2.4 m long from head to tail. The silky anteater which is smaller has almost blond peach like fus covering its whole body. Then there are the northern tamandua and the southern tamandua. The northern tamandua looks different from the southern tamandua, the northern tamandua has black pattern on its chest that makes it look like it's wearing a vest whilst the southern tamandua can have completely black fur or blond fur.
