Caramel Slice
Recipe makes - 1 28x18cm tin of slice
Step 1 - Base
Preheat your oven to 180°C, grease and line your tin
Step 2
Place butter and brown sugar in a saucepan and hear on medium until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved
Step 3
Remove from heat and stir in flour
Step 4
Press mixture into tin and bake 15 mins until golden
Step 5 - Filling
Place butter, brown sugar and golden syrup in a large, heavy-based saucepan. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally until the butter has melted and the mixture has come to a simmer

Add condensed milk, cooking for another 4-5 minutes until large bubbles appear. Continue cooking for an additional minute
Step 7
Pour caramel onto base and bake for 10-12 minutes until caramel is golden. Remove from oven and cool for 30 minutes, then refridgerate until caramel is set
Step 8 - Topping
Place chocolate and oil in a heatproof bowl and melt in the microwave in 30s bursts, stirring in between until almost fully melted. Stir until combined and smooth before spreading a thin layer onto the caramel.
Step 9
Refridgerate until chocolate is set, then cut and serve as desired
