Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO Modem Router
The Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO Modem Router is for those who have an ADSL connection. If you have a Cable broadband connection, your first router is here: Cable Wirless Routers. Here's a nice picture of the Belkin, though. Click on it for a bigger image (opens in a new window):
Use with: Wireless G+ MIMO USB ADAPTOR Review The Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO Modem Router is quite easy to set up for novice wireless users, which can be a big plus. It produces great wireless results from 1 to 25 metres in range. But only when used with the Wireless G+ MIMO USB Adaptor above. It can be difficult to get a Centrino laptop to communicate with this router. And when you do, the results are not that impressive. Sometimes won't pick up a signal at all over wider ranges with a Centrino laptop. One other negative point is that it doesn't ask you to set up WEP/WPA security, so you have to set this up manually in the confuguration pages. This is relatively straightforward, though. Antennas are fixed in place on the router, so you can't unscrew and replace them with bigger and better ones. This is not too much of a worry, if you're using it with the recommended USB adaptor. |

Scores Computer Shopper - 4 out of 5 The Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO Modem Router is a good choice for those new to wireless, despite the reservations about security. You need to use a wireless adaptor like the Wireless G+ MIMO USB one above to get the best reults. Think twice if you have a Centrino laptop and are trying to connect this to the Belkin Wireless G+, though. Great results, otherwise! |
