Where did otters come from?

Otters

Sea otters belong to the Enhydra lutris family, and are closely related to weasels, badgers, and wolverines. Sea otters are marine mammals native to the north Pacific Ocean, and are known for holding hands while they sleep. Sea otters also have the densest fur of any animal, with up to one million hairs per square inch.

Thirteen different otter species exist around the globe, but around 90% of the world's sea otters live in coastal Alaska. Many live in the waters surrounding public lands including Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge, Kenai Fjords National Park, and Glacier Bay National Park.
