Starting at the begining of the God of War franchise is God of War Ascension. The game is based after Kratos was tricked by Ares into killing his family, he gets these visions and doesn't know whats real but then meets a man called Orkos (a demigod who is also the son of Ares and Alecto (God of rage and anger)). Next game being Chains of Olympus is mainly about him seving the Olympian gods and saving Helios (God of the sun) to prevent the world from being in dardness caused by Morpheus (God of dreams). After Chains of Olympus comes God of War 1.
