His music courier

James Marriott initially "fell head over heels in love with music" after attending an ABBA tribute concert with family as a child. This influenced him to go into a music courier as an adult. His first single debuted in May 2020 called “Slow Down”, and while it may not be a great song it sparked a line of great music, his music being Foals- and Strokes-inspired indie rock.

His Social Media Journey

During university, James Marriott started a social media life, creating a Youtube and Twitch account where he did commentary based content. This gained him 2 million followers and in a interview he stated that some of his content was just “taking the piss out other creators”. He also joined a group called “the Eboys” with three other youtubers called; Memeulous, WillNe, and ImAllexx. This later turned into a podcast with the same name, but eventually disbanded, though WillNe and James still create videos together in a channel called “a bit more WillNe”.

His Iced Coffee Brand

In May 2025, James Marriott launched Rodd's with content creator friend WillNE, an iced coffee brand with four flavours; Matcha, Original Oat Latte, Waffle Oat Latte, and Tiramisu Oat Latte. They created Rodd’s because they were sick and tired of the same sugar packed coffee with artificial tastes. “We wanted to make something that tastes the way you expect it to from a good coffee shop – with straight-forward, high-quality, natural ingredients.” - James Marriott
