Leka Halasima

A Tongan-born rugby league prodigy, raised in Auckland who debuted for the New Zealand Warriors in 2024 at age 18. A versatile forward known for his speed and strength, he starred for the Otahuhu Leopards and Mangere East Hawks before becoming a standout NRL prospect, having signed with the warriors through 2027. 2-years later Leka was called up to represent Tonga in the October 2025 Pacific Championships set to make his debut for Tonga XIII on 26 October 2025 against Toa Samoa.

Demetric Vaimaunga

Demitric Vaimauga is a Auckland-born Tongan-Samoan-Niuean professional rugby league player for the New Zealand Warriors, known as a hard-running middle forward. Formerly known as Demitric Sifakula, he changed his surname to honor his mother. A product of Otahuhu Leopards and De La Salle College, he signed with the Warriors at 15 and is locked in until 2028. Demetric was then selected to represent Tonga in the 2025 Pacific Championships. He made his debut on October 26, 2025, against Samoa, scoring his first international try during his tenure.

Warriors History

The One New Zealand Warriors, owned by Autex Industries, are well-established as one of New Zealand's most powerful sporting brands competing in the NRL (National Rugby League). Based at Go Media Stadium, Mt Smart, the club came to life on Friday, March 10, 1995, and stands alone as New Zealand’s biggest and oldest professional sporting franchise. The One New Zealand Warriors have reached the NRL grand final twice (2002 and 2011), won the minor premiership in 2002, qualified for the finals 10 times and netted the now-defunct National Youth Competition (under-20) title three times (2010, 2011 and 2014). In 2024, the club created history by winning the Harold Matthews Cup (under-17) title on debut in the competition and repeated the feat by clinching the premiership again in 2025. In the same season the Warriors clinched three titles in the New South Wales Cup reserve grade competition for the first time by winning the premiership and the State Championship as well as the minor premiership.
