Mars Land
Mars Land

The surface of Mars is dry, rocky and covered in fine red dust. It features huge volcanoes, deep canyons and dried riverbeds that show water once flowed there. Today, strong winds shape the land and can create massive dust storms.

Mars does not have liquid water on its surface today, but there is plenty of evidence that it once did. Scientists have found signs of ancient rivers, lakes and possibly even oceans. Now, most of the water is locked up as ice at the poles or hidden beneath the surface. There are also hints that small amounts of salty liquid water could still exist under certain conditions.
