The Milky Way
Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is a huge group of stars, planets, gas, and dust held together by gravity. It includes our Sun and is shaped like a spiral, slowly turning in space.
At the center of the Milky Way is a supermassive black hole called Sagittarius A*. It has a mass millions of times greater than our Sun and holds the galaxy together with its strong gravity. Although it cannot be seen directly, scientists know it is there by watching how nearby stars move around it.
